Levi’s Denim Drive: Goodbye Old, Hello New!

// December 6th, 2009 // 2 Comments » // Kikay News, Update

My very first Levi’s Jeans was a Christmas gift from the boy back in 2000ish, bought from Levi’s boutique in Alabang Town Center. I have outgrown most of my jeans, but not this one. It was comfortable and fits well, low rise and sit slightly below my waist.

My old 577 is 25 x 28, and I still wear it during (feeling *wink*) skinny days! With Levi’s, I felt like I found my perfect match that everytime I shop for jeans, my first stop is to check what’s new at Levi’s store.

This holiday, I was touched to see one of my faves became charitable and honour World Vision Foundation Inc. Phils. World Vision is a Christian relief, development and advocacy organisation dedicated to working with children, families and communities to overcome poverty and injustice.
SDC10004-revSo, before this day ends, I will try my best to look for my old oversized jeans (err, not my 577) and reward myself with a brand new 501 Boyfriend cut at Php500 off!

Yes, that’s how we do things, right Sisses? We REWARD ourselves. Consider yourself healed after this shopping experience. *double wink*

Dear Sisses,

So what’s the latest in the Geek Community?

Last November 19 HP unveiled its latest fashion Netbook, the HP Mini Studio Tord Boontje edition. This limited edition has a very stylish top cover that uses HP 3D Imprint technology to achieve the layered effect to the design.

HPMiniStudiBoontjeWMeriamYes, I know that the specs are very basic compared to other Netbooks available in the market today, but would you mind the specs much if what you wanted is the uber admiration of male hottie geeks out there staring on you because of your limited edition stylish lappy tappy? Besides, Boontje’s studio has developed a variety of products and furniture pieces for diverse clients like Alexander McQueen and Swarovski.

Oh common, tell me now. Hmmm…

There you go Sisses!

As promised, here are the silly posses with my new Fancy Look lashes from Lavish Lashes Studio at SM Megamall:

MugShotLashes5

All the while I thought I have black eye color, heck no! Mine is brownish, and that prolly explains why my soul isn’t hard core boring after all. Hehe!

MugShotLashes4

A closer look; see how individual lashes were nestled neatly? Amazing, huh!

MugShotLashes2

And there you go, it looked incredibly natural. I just hope it will last for quite some time.

Forgive my photos, I dunno how to photoshop stuff yet. :-)

P.S. Thank you Mamu of Azta Salon, Eastwood City for shaping my forest eyebrow today.

Eye to Eye

// November 11th, 2009 // 3 Comments » // Eye Love, Update

I’ve tried putting on false eyelashes before and the day after that, I started cursing myself. Oh, and I’m such a vain! I experienced allergic reactions everytime I wash my face, probably because of the adhesive applied on my eye lid to keep the falsie thingie. Right then and there, I told myself that I will never try it again. Not in this lifetime, maybe.

Heck! You know, girls will always be girls, and here I am again…

Spotted: Lavish Lashes Studio at SM Megamall! An exclusive salon just for your peepers to shine and get noticed!

This time, I wanted a subtle yet sophisticated look without requiring mascara.

At first we agreed to use 10mm (the length), but upon inspecting my natural lashes, the beautician told me that she’ll use 12mm instead since my natural ones are around 10-11mm in length. It took her more than an hour to attach 45 individual lashes to each eye lid. I opted to try the Fancy Look, which has simple and more natural effect.

Here are the packages, quite affordable, right?

LavishPackages

Spread the love to our fellow sistahs! If you refer 5 friends, you’ll get free touch-up service on your next visit. And if you are uber friendly and can refer 10 friends, you’ll earn free Fancy Look package! Simply write down your friend’s name in the slip that will be provided by the beautician.

Right after the session, the beautician will give you an after-care instructions slip to at least keep the lashes in tact for a month or so…

Now, who needs mascara?

A small price to pay for all eyes on you sister! Go, go, go!

P.S. I will try my best to post mine tomorrow. See yah! :)

Dear Sisses,

Everyone must have heard right now that mineral makeups are all the rage. Beauty aficionados out there have been talking about these for a couple or so more years ago already.

Yours truly just tried this thing on some weeks ago. Just so you know; I have a very sensitive/problematic skin. I get breakouts from time to time due to my irregular period, too much stress and irregular sleeping habits. Visiting my dermatologist once/twice a month is a total hassle to me and to my pocket.

So, to cover the blemishes here and there, I’ve been using this cream-to-powder foundation from The Body Shop for some decent years already. The Flawless Skin Protecting Foundation 05 did a very good job, giving me a very natural looking finish. The weather have become unpredictable these days, and so with my skin! My T-zone gets too oily easily and I assure you, a total discomfort on me.

Lo and behold, I decided to try out this mineral powder foundation. Somehow perfect for my sensitive skin because it’s made from milled naturally occurring earth minerals. My friends recommended L’Oreal True Match, and since reviews are quite OK, I bought one for myself, the G5 (Golden Sand) shade for my La Pinay complexion.

So far, I am happy with the coverage and it’s so easy to apply. Simply dab up, down, left and right; run the brush in a circular motion and viola! Ready to go!

When it comes to the shapely shine-filled effects of 3D, No other combination will suffice. This is science – and illusion.

MAC is taking the beauty industry by storm with its successive release of smashing collections, that are extremely eye-candy, and the 3D Collection is definitely part of that. Lipglasses are my favorite amongst all MAC products, and I am so happy that they launched a limited edition of 3D Lipglasses, plus matching lipliners for the glossies!
