Last Friday marked the launch of MAC Cosmetics’ latest collection, the Fafi Collection.

Fafi is a French artist who conjures up the most curvaceous cuties –
chick-a-boom characters that make us smile. A Fafi girl is a nymphette with
a Ph.D. in passion – she’s an adventuress with a very animated love life!

From Toulouse to Tokyo, the movie of her life is a rags-to-riches love
story, an electric Technicolor dream in violet, coral and strawbaby anime.

Find her pouting on compacts, preening on packaging, and as the cutest doll
we’ve ever seen – soon to be on every M·A·C lover’s vanity.

Phoebe, Bambi, Liee, and I checked out MAC Cosmetics in Glorietta right after The Body Shop – Lipton Milk Tea Feel Good event to check out in the flesh the fabulous Fafi items. The colors were bright, even considered bold, and were more on pinks. Here’s the entire collection,

I also happen to love the packaging of each product, and the artwork! Muy French and artsy. So if you’re a MAC lover, you might want to go to the nearest MAC counter to check out this babies and get yourself a limited edition item like me ( a lipglass heehee ) , or even a limited edition doll ( which Phoebe did get herself ). Mineral makeup is here to stay. Mineral makeup is no craze. I bet my life on it!

Henri Calayag, master stylist of the stars, and beautiful Ruby Gan ( of Myth, and Schu ), have collaborated to come up with mineral makeup that would do wonders on your skin, called Mineral Wonders.

With my initial review about it, I concluded ( as of now ) that this mineral makeup feels light, glides on smoothly and sheerly, and is perfect for everyday use. It also reminds me of college-makeup – bare skin, with a touch of loose powder, and tint.

In all these years of studying, dreaming of becoming either a bigshot Economist, product manager for a beauty brand, or an intimidating lawyer, I think I know what I really want to be.Beautiful. Hahaha. Yes, I want to be beautiful, feel beautiful, and make the world beautiful. I want to be a makeup artist, beauty problogger, and build a beauty empire someday. I believe that all of us have their special missions in life, and well, I bet that this is my mission. I’m not complaining because self esteem is twinned with happiness with oneself, and my dream is for everyone to always feel good about themselves no matter what. To be able to love, one must be able to say that she loves herself, first.

During the Mineral Makeup Weekend, I could say that I had no sleep the night before, but when clients, and friends started coming in, my partner Tin and I started doing makeovers on these beautiful girls, a sudden adrenalin rush came over me as I felt so charged up to apply makeup, do spot concealing, give some glow, and just give these girls advice on what they should do to address their problem areas. I was happy, I was excited for them, and I loved the fact that I was able to help them, at least, in that subject matter. I love the comfort that I get whenever I whip up my makeup brush and start doing what I should do. It feels like home.

I’ve decided to take up Makeup Artistry early part of next year when things are not as hectic like these past few months. Hopefully, I will be able to fulfill my dream. After all, dreams are for free.

I just keep on yakking and yakking on how I love applying makeup and how makeup makes the world a better place, because for one, you can actually be Marimar’s soulmate because of the same fuschia lip color you’re wearing, but how about removing them?

Of course, it is muy importante , that by the end of the day, for all traces of makeup to be gone from your face because makeup is supposed to stay on while you’re awake, and sleeping in it would only cause your skin to absorb all the makeup plus all the dirt and oil it accumulated while you wore it and well, you get the picture. The ugly picture! I can’t, I can’t, I can’t!

Here comes L’Oreal Gentle Lip and Eye Make-Up Remover. I’ve had this with me for ages because after my night outs, I just can’t sleep without removing my eye and lip makeup, aside from the face makeup that I use Cetaphil to remove with.

What I do is I get a cotton ball and get some eye makeup remover and gently swipe away eye makeup from my eyes. The consistency is a liquid , light oil-like liquid that effectively gets rid of all my eye makeup, including eyeliner. It is very important to remove makeup in the eye area in a very gentle manner – do not tug, because the eye area is the most sensitive part of the face, and gets wrinkles easily! We don’t wanna be instant grandmas! Noo!!!

With the lips, I make sure that all traces of lipstick are gone as I swipe the cotton ball ( or pad, which is better ), because I want my lips all clean, and slathered with petroleum jelly or lip treatment because bedtime’s lip treatment time!

Well, let me just stress the importance of removing makeup. Makeup’s a joy to have as it makes you really beautiful but it can be a total pain when your skin starts breaking out because you don’t remove it!

After the flawless, precise eyeshadow application, and smudging smudging via the eyeliner, let’s focus our attention to the lashes!

Well, first things first, mascara and eyeliner are practically bestfriends. Yeah, like Romy and Michelle! ( High School Reunion? ). Why? It’s because they think alike, and work alike! The eyeliner works to define and prettify the eyes, make them look bigger, and mascara further boosts what the eyeliner does, like a multiplying effect! They both have the same job of making your eyes look bigger, defined, and beautiful!

For those who have thin, hardly noticeable lashes, or some with short ones, mascara is there to the rescue to lengthen, volumize, and make your lashes stand out ! What I want in a mascara is the false lash effect – I really want lush eyelashes that would help me make people stop. and I mean stop, as I start to flutter my lashes! Hahahaha!

The Lancome Fatale Mascara ( shown above ) is one of the most popular mascaras out there. I kept on going back to the Lancome counter last year to inquire about it but what they launched was the L’Extreme Mascara. I don’t know if they have this already. Expensive, but definitely gives off the false lash effect.

One of the more popular brands of mascaras are the Maybelline Unstoppable Mascara and Max Factor Masterpiece Mascara, something that I have tried a year ago. Right now, I am using Blinc Kiss Me Mascara which does not smudge, clump, and stays even if I cry all day long ( not that I do! )
