L’Oreal Gentle Lip and Eye Make-Up Remover

// October 27th, 2007 // 2 Comments » // Eye Love, Lip Love, Makeup

I just keep on yakking and yakking on how I love applying makeup and how makeup makes the world a better place, because for one, you can actually be Marimar’s soulmate because of the same fuschia lip color you’re wearing, but how about removing them?

Of course, it is muy importante , that by the end of the day, for all traces of makeup to be gone from your face because makeup is supposed to stay on while you’re awake, and sleeping in it would only cause your skin to absorb all the makeup plus all the dirt and oil it accumulated while you wore it and well, you get the picture. The ugly picture! I can’t, I can’t, I can’t!

Lethal Lipsticks : Philippine Version

// October 22nd, 2007 // No Comments » // Lip Love

We’ve had the Campaign of Safe Cosmetics in the U.S.A. that tackled and revealed the list of lethal lipsticks, but had Paula Begoun of Cosmetic Cop have another opinion on it.

Yes, we do have a Philippine version, and it was shown last night in Korina Sanchez’s show.
Of course, the kikay girl in me wouldn’t pass the opportunity on what the segment was all about considering that I’ve been following the issue closely. (more…)

Taking Back a Beauty Post

// October 17th, 2007 // 1 Comment » // Lip Love

I was posting an entry way back about the L’Oreal Colour Riche, and reviewing it as one of the prettiest red lipsticks that I have ever tried. Yes, it’s true, I fell in love with it , but with a recent turn of events, my heart just got broken with my decision not to use it anymore. Why? It’s because there has been a new report about red lipsticks that included Color Riche and its red shades to be amongst the top lipsticks that contained lead, that is lethal to the consumer. We do not fully conclude this to be the solid brick to-follow truth, but I’d like to be safe than sorry, first and foremost. I have posted an entry about it in my other blog, and well, I need to say goodbye to my good ‘ol lipstick. I just do hope they reformulate!

Holiday Kikay Kit Must-Have : Red Lipstick

// October 3rd, 2007 // 3 Comments » // Lip Love

It’s officially party season as people are preparing for the festive holidays to come! I think that you, my readers, have been grabbing their purses, and bags with kikay kits in them almost every week to attend parties or get together with friends. We here at Kikay Kits will do a series on what beauty products would deem a must-have in your kikay kits now that you are partying the night away every weekend!

For our first item, we have the red lipstick.

With the weather getting colder, I have noticed that my tan has definitely faded, and despite my dismay, I try to adjust my skin tone to the cosmetics that I apply. With my newfound pale valor, what’s a greater way to spice up, and warm the face? A red lipstick.

Cold Weather Skin and Body Care Regimens

// September 26th, 2007 // 1 Comment » // Foot Love, Lip Love, Skin Love

As the weather gets colder, the air gets drier, as our skin does, too. Let’s all keep our skin soft and smooth with these beauty products , and welcome the party-fest ber months with a bang!

Hand Cream – Keep hands baby smooth and silky by using a hand cream! I just discovered this recently, and I regret that I haven’t discovered this sooner! Get a good hand cream that won’t give you a sticky feel as the day progresses.

The Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Hand Cream works well for the day, and Bath and Body Works Hand Cream in Lavender, I may suggest to be used before bedtime to further relax the hands, paired with a massage ( after all, the hands get exhausted, too, but aren’t too noticeable ! ) (more…)

Kikay Things To Do When You’re Stuck At Home

// August 18th, 2007 // 1 Comment » // Body Love, Hair Love, Healthy Healthy!, Lip Love, Skin Love, Spa n Relaxation

Brrr!!! Can you feel the weather? It’s cold and it’s rainy, and some of us would rather stay at home , snuggle with a book or pillow, and drift away to dreamland while enjoying the weather! But for kikay addicts out there, don’t you worry for you don’t have to go to the mall for your pampering session!

Here are some ideas on what kikay things you could do when you’re just sitting in the comfort of your own abodes!

Try to color your hair yourself, for the first time!
Indulge in a luxurious, relaxing, hot shower ( Sigh! )
During night time, indulge in a very slow, relaxing skin care ritual as you apply facial mask to pamper your skin!
Get a lipbalm and give your lips some lovin`! Cold weather makes lips dry and chappy.
Invade the pantry and the fridge for some natural hair recipes!
Join the Kikay Kits Contest – you just might win this Skin Care Set!

Once in awhile in our busy lives, this weather presents to us a great opportunity to slow down, and somehow, take care of ourselves as we relax the weekend off!

Happy weekend! I hope everyone gets the relaxation that they seek!

Be Lipbalm Crazy!

// August 3rd, 2007 // 6 Comments » // Lip Love

The weather’s just crazy, and it’s getting chilly, as the air preps for the Ber ( or brrr as I call it ) months to come! I just noticed awhile ago, that my lips were feeling a bit drier than usual, and it’s actually great to arm oneself with a lipbalm in one’s kikay kit starting now until the end of the year to keep those lips well-maintained, loved, and be kissable! ( Mistletoe season is near, too! snicker )

I have three picks for Lip Balms, that are stellar in terms of quality, yet will fit the budget of our fellow kikays and kikoys.

MAC Lipglass for that High-Watt Shine

// July 25th, 2007 // 2 Comments » // Lip Love

My love affair with MAC Lipglass started when I was in college, as I was watching TV, admiring movie stars sporting really glossy, yet tinted lips. That time, high-gloss shine lip products were still scarce, and I just kept on wearing lipstick, then I just layered it with a transparent gloss to achieve that shine.
