MugShotLashes5

All the while I thought I have black eye color, heck no! Mine is brownish, and that prolly explains why my soul isn’t hard core boring after all. Hehe!

MugShotLashes4

A closer look; see how individual lashes were nestled neatly? Amazing, huh!

And there you go, it looked incredibly natural. I just hope it will last for quite some time.

Forgive my photos, I dunno how to photoshop stuff yet. :-)

P.S. Thank you Mamu of Azta Salon, Eastwood City for shaping my forest eyebrow today.

Eye to Eye

// November 11th, 2009 // 3 Comments » // Eye Love, Update

I’ve tried putting on false eyelashes before and the day after that, I started cursing myself. Oh, and I’m such a vain! I experienced allergic reactions everytime I wash my face, probably because of the adhesive applied on my eye lid to keep the falsie thingie. Right then and there, I told myself that I will never try it again. Not in this lifetime, maybe.

Heck! You know, girls will always be girls, and here I am again…

Spotted: Lavish Lashes Studio at SM Megamall! An exclusive salon just for your peepers to shine and get noticed!

This time, I wanted a subtle yet sophisticated look without requiring mascara.

At first we agreed to use 10mm (the length), but upon inspecting my natural lashes, the beautician told me that she’ll use 12mm instead since my natural ones are around 10-11mm in length. It took her more than an hour to attach 45 individual lashes to each eye lid. I opted to try the Fancy Look, which has simple and more natural effect.

Here are the packages, quite affordable, right?

LavishPackages

Spread the love to our fellow sistahs! If you refer 5 friends, you’ll get free touch-up service on your next visit. And if you are uber friendly and can refer 10 friends, you’ll earn free Fancy Look package! Simply write down your friend’s name in the slip that will be provided by the beautician.

Right after the session, the beautician will give you an after-care instructions slip to at least keep the lashes in tact for a month or so…

Now, who needs mascara?

A small price to pay for all eyes on you sister! Go, go, go!

P.S. I will try my best to post mine tomorrow. See yah! :)

A Kikay Chat With Bianca Valerio

// May 8th, 2008 // 2 Comments » // Events, Eye Love, Kikay People, Kikay Thoughts

gotta love her eyes!

Last April 30, Kikay Kits was very much present in the Blue Water Day Spa event wherein they launched their new endorsers, Marian Rivera and Piolo Pascual. Yeah, not that star-studded. ( hahaha! ). They also launched their new Sahara Oasis Massage and Chocolate Slimming Massage. Twas a very interesting event as the two new treatments were demo-ed in front of the press.

Since bloggers are curious creatures, we were actually in front, in front of everyone! We managed to talk to the svelte beauty Bianca Valerio, the host of the event, for some kikay chat!

POND’S Flawless White Light Infusing Under-Eye Cream

// November 15th, 2007 // 12 Comments » // Eye Love

I’ve been watching alot of TV lately ( Marimar, hehehe ), and I was able to discover a new product ( or product line, for that matter ) of PONDS, one of their products being Pond’s Flawless White Visibly Lightening Day Cream.

This is the literature I got from Inquirer,

VAO-B3 is the Pond’s Institute’s patented complex of Vitamin E, Allantoin, Optics and Niacinamide that works hard on dark blemishes and gets straight to work, reducing the visible appearance of dark spots

The only two ingredients that are ear or eye friendly to be are allantoin which soothes the skin, and vitamin E that keeps skin young and supple, and upon research, niacinamide is one of the principal forms of Vitamin B3 that acts an an antioxidant and has anti-inflammatory properties. Well, this sounds promising! Another variant, which I am particularly interested on is the Ponds Flawless White Light Infusing Under-Eye Cream.

L’Oreal Gentle Lip and Eye Make-Up Remover

// October 27th, 2007 // 2 Comments » // Eye Love, Lip Love, Makeup

I just keep on yakking and yakking on how I love applying makeup and how makeup makes the world a better place, because for one, you can actually be Marimar’s soulmate because of the same fuschia lip color you’re wearing, but how about removing them?

Of course, it is muy importante , that by the end of the day, for all traces of makeup to be gone from your face because makeup is supposed to stay on while you’re awake, and sleeping in it would only cause your skin to absorb all the makeup plus all the dirt and oil it accumulated while you wore it and well, you get the picture. The ugly picture! I can’t, I can’t, I can’t!

Smoky Eye Essentials : Eyeshadows

// August 31st, 2007 // No Comments » // Eye Love

The smoky eye makeup must be one of the most challenging looks that I’ve ever tried – because I definitely do not want to end up looking like a zombie! Step one in getting closer to the hot hot look for fall, and beyond, is getting the right eyeshadows. With this, you would be needing one light colored, natural-looking shadow to serve as your brow bone highlighter, then, a sand or nude shade as the eyelid wash , and the darker color to pull off that “smoke” effect. We all need three shades, and can combine complementary colors that we think would look great on us ( like experimental greens, blues, or grays ), but the beauty industry makes it so easy for us as they come up with eyeshadow trios that just saves the day.

Here are some decadent eyeshadow trios or quads that are so so hot this fall, and are hot enough to give off some “smoke” in the eyes!

Smashbox Decadence Eyeshadow Trios. The colors here are pretty classic, and yet are sure fire to be gorgeous on the eyes!

Smoky Eyes are Hot For Fall

// August 29th, 2007 // 1 Comment » // Eye Love

We’ll be seeing alot of smoldering, dark-shaded eyes these coming months, as smoky eyes are here to stay, until the Holiday season, at least. I’ve found a great Smoky Eye Tutorial, that I hope would help all our kikays to achieve the look!

Now, you don’t need to have black eyeshadow to be able to pull off a smoky eye. Dark purples, blues, or greys are hot right now, and will definitely put some smoke to your look! Do not forget to invest in a good gel liner. I’ve just learned that gel eyeliners stay put better than pencils, and look a little bit more natural and less harsh than liquid ones. A few of my friends have been raving about MAC’s Fluidline in Graphic Brown, and I agree that brown is a great color that can accentuate the eyes without making the look too harsh.

Poker Straight Lashes : Curl Away!

// July 13th, 2007 // 4 Comments » // Eye Love, Kikay Tools

lashesAs a followup to my previous entry about eyelash curlers, there is another scenario that can make both the two famed eyelash curlers, Shu Uemura and Shiseido, seem not working ( thus, to a girl’s disappointment, she may say that there is no hope for her! ) – that is, having poker-straight lashes. Do you feel that sometimes, your lashes just keep on “straightening themselves” even after endless attempts of using the eyelash curler, even violating rule # 1 to squeeze gently the curler so as not to damage the lashes?

The case of the poker-straight lashes is another problem that can be solved in three ways.

1. Have your lashes permed. – There are salons there that offer this service. This would set you back around 250 pesos and up. The advantage is that you don’t need to curl your lashes everyday, it’s like an “automatic curl” for you.

Eyelash Extensions, Anyone?

// July 9th, 2007 // 9 Comments » // Eye Love

eyelash extensions A few weeks ago, over dinner, I noticed that my best friend J looked quite beautiful that night – I think she did something to her eyes. I hesitated on asking at first since I knew she wasn’t into the “noticeable makeup” look that I sometimes sport via my smokey eye makeup application. Well, I asked her anyway if she applied a thicker line of eyeliner for her eyes were more “wide-open” and had that deep-set features that only eyeliner or mascara could achieve, and she instantly laughed me off, “No, it’s not the eyeliner you noticed , it’s my lashes! I have eyelash extensions now!” I was wowed when I started scrutinizing ( yes, the curious girl that I am ), and her lashes were indeed longer, and perfectly curled. Her chinita eyes were more “open” and emphasized with her extensions. (more…)
