Sometimes in life, we seek to reinvent ourselves. May it be just to spice up our personality, or sport a new look to get more confidence boost, one sure shot way of attaining some change in one’s physique is definitely coloring the hair. Famous celebrities that reinvented their looks via changing their hair color include Reese Witherspoon, Kate Walsh ( she was once blond and I love her red mane now! ), Victoria Beckham, and many many more.
You can lighten your hair color to soften your features, or add some brightness with some reddish tints to give more spunk to your personality. For those who were passed on genes having gray hair, it’s the “hair concealer” that hides traces of getting old ( even if you’re not! believe me, I’m one of them!) . Coloring one’s hair is a playful experiment that is worth an hour’s time in the bathroom, if you do it yourself!
To share, I’ve started hair coloring, and doing it myself as early as highschool. I’d sport light brown shades that would earn scoldings from my teacher (since we weren’t allowed to have our hair dyed ), and I remember for my prom, I dyed my hair in jet black hair to sport a Snow White look. There were days when my mom would help me, there were days I would do it on my own. My hair’s awfully long, so I needed all the help I could get.
For the hair color newbie, one nice product that I would recommend is L’Oreal Casting. It’s a semi-permanent hair color that lasts for a few weeks, and gives lustrous shine, and beautiful color. It doesn’t have ammonia , a chemical that is said to be hazardous to the health. This was my first ever hair color , and I loved on how subtle, and unnoticeable it was, as it covered my greys. It didn’t damage my hair either, and was still kept soft and nice.
One tip though, make sure to run a patch test before you empty your hair color bottle! We don’t want allergies to happen!
