The Beauty and The Mud ( Oily Skin Edition )
| August 7th, 2007 | Skin Love

I can never expect more the laugh, funny look , or even the words, “what the heck did you put on your face?” whenever it’s mud-pack day for me. Well, I can take all the madness the world has to give, but I won’t last a week without it. ( okay, someone who just figured that out is as old as me! Hahaha ! ). I mean really. Mud packs aren’t just there to..look like mud. They are there to beautify, beautify, and did I say beautify?
There are lots of mud packs/ facial masques available, and first, I shall be discussing the one for oily, and acne prone skin.
For those who have problems of oily skin, blemishes, and acne, well, mud packs / facial masques are great for you. As they cleanse the skin, draw out impurities, and help control the oiliness in the skin ( with the clay each brand uses ) , they also infuse vitamins and nutrients to moisturize, soothe and heal the skin as its condition is improved. It is recommended to to have a mud pack session at least once a week, and for those who need more “help”, then twice or thrice a week would be good for them.
The Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque is a cult favorite, as it promises to dry up pimples, shrink large pores, and rinse away blackheads. It has been hailed as some to be the best face masque available, and with its price tag of hardly 300 pesos, it’s very affordable and effective at the same time. What’s not to love about it?

On the other hand, one of my favorites would have to be the Epoch Glacial Marine Mud. Everytime I use it, I can immediately see all the impurities drawn out ready to be scrubbed off by my exfoliating scrub, as my skin is brighter, and my skin condition really does improve over time thanks to this.
Do you have a beauty mud that you swear by? Please, do share!

Hi Sophie!! I use mario badescu strawberry facial scrub but I would like to try “Queen Helene” Do you know where I can buy?
Hi there! Where can I buy the Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque?
Hi Joy and Suyen!
I’ve actually seen them @ the department store area of Robinson’s mall
Once they were only sold abroad:)
Hi! I stumbled upon this page searching for Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque in Google. Which Robinson’s mall? I’ve been looking everywhere for this product!
Ilove Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque, too…sometimes I do spot treatment and leave it on overnight and the zits are gone the next day! It’s dirt cheap in the US where I asked my cousin to buy it for me and just recently I found the tub version at Robinsons Galleria dept. store. Hurray!
