Be Lipbalm Crazy!
| August 3rd, 2007 | Lip Love
The weather’s just crazy, and it’s getting chilly, as the air preps for the Ber ( or brrr as I call it ) months to come! I just noticed awhile ago, that my lips were feeling a bit drier than usual, and it’s actually great to arm oneself with a lipbalm in one’s kikay kit starting now until the end of the year to keep those lips well-maintained, loved, and be kissable! ( Mistletoe season is near, too! snicker )
I have three picks for Lip Balms, that are stellar in terms of quality, yet will fit the budget of our fellow kikays and kikoys.
If you’re running low on budget, there’s no reason to compromise quality for a low-priced item. A rare gem that I have found in the lip balm department is the Ilog Maria Lip Balm.

Don’t discriminate the product performance given the price tag, for it works as well, if not better, than commercial lip balm brands that are more expensive. It delivers what it promises – to fully moisturize and spoil the lips into endless softness, with an added bonus of a cool, minty feel!

If you are in the mood to splurge a little, but still, not too much, then I would recommend the Aloe Lips by Forever Living. Priced at around 250+, this has got to be my favorite. It heals the most chapped lips in the shortest time. I swear by this, the only downside is that it doesn’t have SPF. If it had SPF I would proudly proclaim this to be my Holy Grail Lipbalm. Another good thing is that personally, I love the smell and taste ( well I don’t taste it, but the way it feels on my lips ).

Finally, if you are in the mood to splurge, let me just share to you the cult favorite among lipbalm addicts – my friend D has been endlessly raving about the Kiehls Lip Balm # 1. Kiehls is a high end brand already and yet the price of the lip balm is , which is already okay. D bought this for around 600 bucks in Hong Kong, and I don’t know how much they are going to offer it in Manila once they open shop in Greenbelt. It also delivers moisture and relieves dried, chapped lips, coupled with SPF 4 ( or 15, whichever you choose )
So , my top three picks, with variations in price, for whichever you pick, you’ll surely get the lip lovin you deserve!

I stand by my Kiehl’s Lip Balm.. Most everyone says that there’s a taste! I don’t care! It does its job and I’m happy with it! Would you believe that I have 5 of these? Hahaha!!
VMV’s Armada moisturizing lip balm is my favorite. It relieves the my lips even at its dryest, plus it has an spf of 60 and is perfect even on its own.
i adore Vaseline’s Lip Therapy with Aloe Vera! actually parang addict, im using 2 pots (one stays at home, the other is a resident in my kikay kit!) at the same time. bad trip lang wala sa Pinas nito kaya it is my cousin’s default “kikay” pasalubong from the UK.
Does Chapstick fall under “Lip Balm”? In any case, that’s something I can’t live without, since my lips crack up like Africa during drought season.

Carmex is a lip balm that heals, soothes and tingles. The tube and pot version cures lip sores. It also carries cherry, strawberry, and mint variants in click sticks. It smells wonderful,it gets the job done, and it has SPF. Great thing is, it’s only P 80.00. Watch out for them at all PCX outlets
