The Body Shop is one of the most popular beauty boutiques here in the country. Beauty lovers flock the place every weekend for new finds, for they have everything , from cosmetics, to skin care, body care, fragrance, and even aromatherapy.
One of the interesting finds there is the Body Butter. It’s been there for ages - I first tried it when I was in college as my friend was convincing me to buy one, claiming that her mom loves it so much. I gladly bought one for my mom in Blueberry. It was very sweet and smelled like blueberry chicklet ( gum , well I just love the term chicklet, which was the slang for gums during the 90s haha! ), but my mom was grease-a-phobic, meaning she hated sticky and heavy lotions.
Of course, this entry is not about bashing the Body Butter. Actually, I’m more on enumerating what could be the functions or uses of the Body Butter. If you are like me, and my mom who hate sticky lotions, then this would be a great lotion for the feet. The feet, as we know, gets the most damage and dryness as they are exposed to harsh elements day by day. Lotions with thin consistency would not be able to work well , as intensive moisturizing is needed - and the Body Butter would work really well for this, as I am using it whenever I feel that my feet feel dry.
The Body Butter is also excellent for use during really cold weather conditions. In my recent trip to Shanghai during the early part of the year, I arrived there with the news that I have just arrived on the date that it was the coldest day in Shanghai. As I went back to my hotel as my friends and I strolled the streets, I saw my skin really, really dry. The next morning, after taking a bath, I slathered some Body Butter ( in Almond, which was less fruity smelling ) in my arms and legs, and voila! It was a really good moisturizer that when I got back, my skin didn’t feel too dry or became endangered of cracking, which my mom warned me about extreme weather conditions.
As for me, I’m not totally giving up on The Body Shop’s Body Butter, but I won’t be using it during the summer season, that’s for sure. December would be a great time to use my good ol pot again.
