MAC Lipglass for that High-Watt Shine

leave a response

My love affair with MAC Lipglass started when I was in college, as I was watching TV, admiring movie stars sporting really glossy, yet tinted lips. That time, high-gloss shine lip products were still scarce, and I just kept on wearing lipstick, then I just layered it with a transparent gloss to achieve that shine.

When I’ve heard about the raves of the makeup artists’ choice, MAC Cosmetics, I visited their counter at Rustans, Makati, and tried their lipglasses. Lipglasses stay true to their word that they impart a glassy shine on the lips. The first lipglass shade that I bought was Lychee Luxe, and it was just what I was looking for - the perfect deep pink with hints of coral. I didn’t have to wear heavy eye makeup for the glossiness and the vivid color of Lychee Luxe was the perfect distinct shade that would be someone’s “signature”. After I finished a tube, I’ve also tried the well-loved shade Prrr, which Paris Hilton is said to wear. It is a baby pink nude, that imparts a sexy look, that would be perfect to pair with smokey eyes.

One downside of lipglasses is that they are well, sticky. My hair is very long, and sometimes, when the wind blows, I find a strand or two that stuck on my lips! Well, in fairness, it is very long lasting, and the colors selections are incredibly superb. I would recommend MAC Lipglass to anyone who would want that perfect lips with high gloss shine!

This is exactly why I don’t wear lipgloss. I hate it when strands of hair get stuck on my lips. Would you know of a brand that is not sticky? Or are all lipglosses made this way?

Well, that is the downside of MAC lipglasses - they’re sticky! :) There are alot of less stickier glosses like Guerlain, and some, I dont know, are “malabnaw” so I wouldn’t vouch for them, even if theyre not sticky, they don’t adhere well to the lips, or look too watery that they look hideous. Sticky is fine with me as long as I get that kind of gorgeous color :)
