Bizzie Lizzie Nail Salon and Day Spa

// July 31st, 2007 // 2 Comments » // Nail Love

My best friend J isn’t crazy about having her nails done in a salon – she gets irritated with the sound of the blower, and isn’t okay with the business of the place, with people running around, and all. My best friend J is one of the people who influenced me to the world of nail pampering, and boy is she just critical and “maselan”. Her idea of nail pampering is a quiet, cozy place, with La-Z boy chairs, and first class service.

And she found it in Bizzie Lizzie.

Bizzie Lizzie is a full service and one-stop nail spa salon situated in Annapolis, Greenhills. Their services include nail art, the usual manicure-pedicure, body massages, waxing, reflexology, and UV nails – a great alternative to acrylic nails, which is described as,

The Body Shop Body Butter

// July 30th, 2007 // 2 Comments » // Body Love

The Body Shop is one of the most popular beauty boutiques here in the country. Beauty lovers flock the place every weekend for new finds, for they have everything , from cosmetics, to skin care, body care, fragrance, and even aromatherapy.

One of the interesting finds there is the Body Butter. It’s been there for ages – I first tried it when I was in college as my friend was convincing me to buy one, claiming that her mom loves it so much. I gladly bought one for my mom in Blueberry. It was very sweet and smelled like blueberry chicklet ( gum , well I just love the term chicklet, which was the slang for gums during the 90s haha! ), but my mom was grease-a-phobic, meaning she hated sticky and heavy lotions.

Kikay Kit : A Gift For Me!

// July 26th, 2007 // 1 Comment » // Kikay Kits Collection

Last June, I was able to receive a gift from my co-mineral makeup addict, Aileen. We met via a local forum, talked about mineral makeup, influenced each other to try different brands, and the rest is history. When my friend Claudine left for a vacation to the U.S., Aileen, who is based there, asked Claud to give me a beauty loot. I was overjoyed to get it since after all, I am a beauty addict!

Take a look!

She gave me the total package : A Clinique makeup bag ( or kikay kit, for that matter ), samples and pots of loose mineral makeup, OPI Nailpolish in Bubble Bath ( that I used to sport my short nailed look ), Sally Hansen Beyond Perfect nailpolish , and one Elf Lipgloss that wasn’t included in the picture. Now, I carry the Clinique makeup bag with me all the time because it can even fit a big brush, ala MAC 187 brush. Knowing me, I cannot live without a roomy, and spacious kikay kit!

Now, I wonder, what am I gonna get for Christmas? I know, I know, I’ve been a very very good girl all year long! Haha !

MAC Lipglass for that High-Watt Shine

// July 25th, 2007 // 2 Comments » // Lip Love

My love affair with MAC Lipglass started when I was in college, as I was watching TV, admiring movie stars sporting really glossy, yet tinted lips. That time, high-gloss shine lip products were still scarce, and I just kept on wearing lipstick, then I just layered it with a transparent gloss to achieve that shine.

Marks and Spencer Bath Products

// July 24th, 2007 // No Comments » // Body Love

I love Marks and Spencer for having great, classic clothes, good quality underwear, and the ever reliable thermal wear! I admit that I save up whenever I shop there because the prices are not exactly the lowest- you definitely pay for quality there. Just one day, I got lost in the store and stumbled into their Bath and Body Section, and my life was never the same again – bath-wise, that is!

I must say that when it comes to body wash, Marks and Spencer is one of the brand that offers fragrant ones – it might be relative, but hey, with the wide selection , I’m sure you will be able to find one that’s perfect for you! Aside from the pleasant fragrances of their bath products, I also must say that the price tag isn’t as painful in the pocket as it seems. I bought my Magnolia body wash, a pleasant, very elegant lady-like, almost-powdery-but-not-too-overpowering scent , for only about around 280 ( I forgot the exact figure, but it’s below 300 ) for a 250 ml bottle. I loved it so much , and my mom did as well, that we just keep on buying it over and over again! (more…)

Something New : CK In2U Perfume

// July 23rd, 2007 // No Comments » // Fragrance Love

Something new is in the air, and I could definitely smell it, it’s the CK In2U Perfume!

With the tremendous success of the CK One perfume, I am wondering if CK In2U could beat the sales record of CK One which is a whopping 20 bottles per minute. Still hooked with the pleasing olfactory delight that CK One brought me, but well, I can always make way for something new! (more…)

Kikay Girl’s DIY Hotoil Treatment

// July 20th, 2007 // 2 Comments » // Hair Love

Keeping one’s crowning glory is a must, for when it shines, it attracts attention. Well, on the other side, dry, damaged hair also grabs attention. The bad one.

While we maintain our hair via applying conditioner everyday, it is also a must to indulge and treat our stressed, exposed-to-the-elements hair to an intensive conditioning treatment every week. While it is too expensive to have our hair pampering every week at the salon, here are some D-I-Y at home hot-oil, or intensive conditioning treatments.

What You Need : A pot of intensive conditioner, or hot oil treatment.
The Kikay Girl Loves : Sunsilk Damage Repair Intensive Conditioner, around 250+ pesos, a great, intensely conditioning and repairing conditioning treatment that is also light on the pocket.

In one of my attempts of taking good photographs, well, this was the best that I could do a few weeks ago ( until I discovered the beauty of good lighting? hahaha! the picture looked like it was about to rain, but really, it was a sunny sunny day! sorry! ) Does it show that even in photography, I am still smitten with beauty products as my subjects? Oh yes, that’s true!

This was my birthday beauty loot from my friends that I received last June ( well, part of! ) . They sure know what this girl’s mind is thinking!
