Sleek, straight hair , or even well-managed locks reflect a well-maintained and clean look. Posh.Classy.Sexy. Frizzy hair is the exact opposite of such image that we all want to project, as it makes the overall look of one person more stressed. Frazzled. Tired. Messy. It makes you look like you just finished a very physical catfight with another woman! Hahaha!
Here are some tips to get rid of frizzy hair :
1. The most basic of all is that, rinse off your hair using cold water. Cold water “locks” the hair follicles, that prevents it from getting frizzy.
2. After your shower, do not, I mean do not, rub your hair with the towel! It’s a sure shot of making the hair look “sabog!”
3. Use a wide-tooth comb when detangling wet hair. Stay away from fine-tooth combs, and non-rubber ones that induce static.
2. Second, as much as possible, dry your hair inside the house, and do not go outdoors with just-washed hair. The humidity will make your hair frizz up.
3. Frizzy hair is usually dry, so make time for a bi-weekly deep conditioning treatment like the Kerastas Oleo Relax Masque ( the deep conditioning masque that I swear by ), or for the nature-lovers, there is the ever-reliable Virgin Coconut Oil.
3. Well, if you’re impatient like me, go have your hair rebonded! Saves all the trouble, but wide tooth comb should still be used, and weekly deep conditioning, since the hair becomes chemically treated now.
4. For products, an anti-frizz serum applied to damp hair ( 50% dry? haha! ) would help your hair dry into a better texture. Dry hair with an electric fan, for too much blow drying would damage the hair.
4. And now, for the products! Here are great products to use for frizzy hair:
*Sunsilk’s shampoo formulated for frizzy hair - this is actually a little bit heavy on the hair because it is formulated to make hair sleeker
* Sunsilk Damage Repair Conditioner in a pot - repair those hair follicles, for healthy follicles pave way for better looking hair!
* Kerastase Oleo Relax line - So far, the best, best, anti-frizz product line that I have tried. The best product in this line is the Oleo Relax Masque. It works wonders for rebonded hair as it maintains its silky sleekness, and if your hair is frizzy as it is, it will really really improve your hair texture in a matter of minutes! The Anti-Frizz serum is also helpful when applied on damp hair as it gives the hair a smoother look. It has two formulas - the taller bottle for those with still tolerable frizzy hair, and the smaller bottle which is more concentrated, for the more challenging frizz situation.
